Hiccups. No one likes them, and they can be super-pesky. Not exactly the kind of thing you want to get when you're talking to your boss or on a first date. But, how do you get them to go away? Well, you could try holding your breath (doesn't usually work), or swallowing a bit of sugar (tastes good, but not really effective), or even cream of tartar on an empty stomach (eww, I know. Wouldn't recommend it). But the best way I know of to lose your hiccups? Pull your tongue! Sound weird, looks weird, but works. Stick your tongue out as far as it will go, and them pull on it with both hands for 20 seconds. This helps to break up the rhythm of your hiccups and releases air. Just a tip though, don't try this at the dinner table:)

Seeing Red! Emmy's 2011 Fashion Recap
As many of you know, the Emmy's were on Sunday night, and it was a star-studded event. Jane Lynch hosted the 63'rd annual episode, and the main fashion trend was: RED! Stars such as Lea Michele and Kate Winslet wowed in the color. My personal favorite in red , however, was Nina Dobrev. Even though her dress was the same bold color as many other celebrities at the event, Dobrev's drop-waisted ruffle look complimented her figure and kept her looking mature, but not too old for her age. My least favorite red-dress of the night was on Margo Martindale, the top part of the outfit was a different color then the red at the bottom of the dress, though the style was flattering on her body.
So, how do you like the red trend at the Emmys? Leave a comment and share your opinion.

How To S.I.N.G. (It's not what you think)
Self-defense is super important to learn- especially for women and teen girls. You should always know how to protect yourself, no matter what situation you're in. That's where the S.I.N.G. method comes in handy. S.I.N.G. stands for Solar Plexus, Instep, Nose, Groin. It was started, ironically, by Sandra Bullocks's character in the movie Miss Congeniality, but is now being used more an more frequently as a form of self-defense. Here's how to do it:
1. Solar Plexus
Your Solar Plexus is the area below your lungs, at the beginning of your stomach. This area is vulnerable and sensitive, and a thrust or a sharp jab to it will greatly weaken your attacker.
2. Instep
The second part of the S.I.N.G. method is instep. For this maneuver, you lift up either one of your feet and bring it down hard on your attacker's foot. This will further cripple them and make it hard for them to run after you.
3. Nose
The third move in S.I.N.G. is an elbow or a punch to the nose. Use all your force with this one, because a hard enough hit will cause your attackers nose to break and his eyes to water, further impairing him from hurting you.
4. Groin
The last step in this process is an elbow, punch, or if possible, a kick to the groin. This final move will ensure that your attacker will be completely unable to come after you for quite a while, giving you time to get as far away from him as possible and call the police.
Hopefully you'll never need to use this tactic, but if you ever find yourself in a situation where physical self-defense is necessary, don't forget to S.I.N.G!
