California Girls

They've got more in their closet than just daisy dukes and bikinis. Cali girls also have their own unique styles. Those of you who are reading this on the east coast know how cold it can be in winter. Snow, ice, the whole package. But on the west coast,  you've got temperatures in the mid 70's, and sunshine all day long. So it's not a suprise that the girls in California dress a little differently than say, someone in New York or Maine.
A friend of  mine recently went out to California, and called me on her trip. I was expecting to hear about how warm California was, or how jet lagged she was, but instead she brought up the fashions popular with girls on the west coast. Here they are!
-Shorts over tights: are worn because of the warm temperatures. When it's not quite hot enough for only shorts, but too warm for jeans, ta da! The perfect solution is sticking a cute pair of tights under some nice shorts.
-Turquoise: this adds an extra pop of color to any outfit. Turquoise is a good stone to wear, it's funky, fun, and can be dressed up or down.
-Tribal Chic: is a new jewelry look that California is trying out, it consists of bold, ethnic inspired accesories. Click here to view an example.
-Cusp- this isn't a look, it's a store that's big in LA. Owned by Neiman Marcus, you could call it sort of a teen version of the larger store. I checked out the website for it, and though it is a little more upscale, featuring designers like Diane von Furstenburg, Theory, and Ella Moss, this store has some good sales, and the clothes are good quality. I have a trip to LA coming up pretty soon, so I know where I'll be spending most of my time:) Click here to start shopping Cusp.
