WhateverWeFeelLikeBlogging: The Swim Edition

Whether you're jetting off to St. Barts, or you're just chilling at the pool, the perfect suit is a must. FYI: a lot of these suits are sold in separates, I've just showcased both the top & bottom.

Retro Polka Dots- This Delias vintage inspired bikini is so cute. The fit reminds me of 50's chic--so classic & playful! Btw, there are other styles of the bottoms in case you don't like the high-waist look. Click 2 shop

One Piece- I'm personally not all that wild about one-piece bathing suits, but I love this one. The print on this ASOS suit is so unique and interesting. The deep V neckline & halter top are universally flattering and the black front tie is so cute. Shop

Sporty- this surfer-chic Hurley piece is great for riding the waves or just laying on the sand. I love the geometric pattern and cool colors. Shop

Tie-Dye Bandeau- I love the bright print on this Victoria's Secret bandeau! This suit is so cute and the tie dye gives it a laid-back beachy-vibe. Shop

Snakeskin Animal Print- This Michael Kors suit is fierce and the metallic accent pieces add a pretty touch. Shop

Must-Have of the Month- April's Item

Everyone knows that you can't wear the same dresses year-round, each season has different temperatures and therefore, different outfits. I was in midtown (Manhattan) yesterday, and I stopped at Bloomingdales. After browsing the merchandise (and avoiding those overly-enthusiastic sales people in the perfume department who always try to spray you with scents), I went up to the fifth floor, a.k.a. the dress section. I saw so many pretty pieces, including a gorgeous French-Connection dress that I was debating buying, when I saw this dress.

This gorgeous Lauren by Ralph Lauren shirred-floral dress is amazing. It features delicate ruching on one side of the dress, which accentuates waistlines and makes you look taller and leaner. It also showcases  a flattering crossover neckline and an empire-waist cut. This dress is priced at $134.00, which is quite reasonable for a Ralph Lauren piece, and if you know you'll put it to good use, then this dress is a great must-have.

Rihanna's "S&M": The Disturbing & Inappropriate Truth Behind The Catchy Pop Song

You're driving in the car, with maybe your mom and little sister. You turn on the radio and tune it to one of the hit-music pop stations. Rihanna's sexy S&M romp is on. Your little sister likes it and starts to sing along. You may wonder, what's wrong with this picture? S&M is an abbreviation for the word sadomasochistic. Sadomasochism is a type of sex that involves physical/emotional abuse/pain in the form of whipping, using chains & other weapons, etc. If you have a filter on your search engine, and search the term S&M, the content will be blocked because of explicit graphics. Just a few days ago, I actually sang along to the song, thinking it was catchy and fun. Little did I know the real meaning of it. If the title isn't enough to totally disgust you, in the song she says, "Sticks and stones many break my bones but chains and whips excite me." Do you think an elementary or middle schooler would know what sadomasochism is? No, I highly doubt it. But the question is why is this permitted to be played on the radio? I'm considering writing a complaint because it is so horrible that young people are being exposed to this in the form of a catchy pop song. What baffles me is that Rihanna of all people, a victim of abuse, would sing about a sick and twisted topic such as S&M so casually, knowing that children are listening. She has a young following, and I know kids and teens nationwide have this song on their ipod, naively unaware. I used to be a Rihanna fan, but quite frankly, this threw me over the edge. I don't know what she was thinking. Her need to be 'edgy' and 'wild' sends an awful message. Imagine a teenage boy who thinks Rihanna is attractive is listening to this song: he's going to get the picture that women like this kind of 'edgy' whips and chains sort of thing. What is your opinion? Comment and tell us where you stand.

Hate It or Heart It- 'Judas' by Lady GaGa

So by now, most of you have probably heard Lady GaGa's latest song, Judas. (Click here to listen). This song has been kind of controversial, sparking a lot of debate between GaGa's 'monsters', and other listeners. Some people are saying that her song is sac-religious, while others are looking more into the lyrics and saying that it isn't that at all. I personally like the song Judas, and it's not because Lady GaGa is my favorite singer or anything (Katy Perry:) ). See, to me, this song is saying that she's in love with someone who betrayed her. She still has to make a good song for me to like it, and Judas won me over. It's catchy, has interesting lyrics, and a nice beat. But I'm only one out of about 6.5 billion people, so comment your opinion on the song. Do you Hate It, or Heart It?

comment, people:)

Naked Juice

When rushing back and forth from dance class to dance class, I'm always looking out for healthy quick-fixes and swaps I can use to have the healthiest diet possible. Being the health-nut that I am, (don't judge!), I've come across a great alternative/easy option if you're not getting enough fruit--or you're too busy to eat it. Naked juice is PACKED with fruit, and they somehow manage to sneak veggies in too! But the best part is, it tastes sooooooo good!!!  While fresh fruit is delicious, if you find that you can't get your hands on it frequently, Naked juice is an equivalent option. (You'll get just the same amount of fruit--or more, with NO  added sugar!! Oh and guess what, their bottles are recycled so you're doing good for your body & the environment when you drink this stuff! They also have a website:

Song of the Week- Cosmic Love by Florence + The Machine

Now, I know that DancingPrincess has already made a song of the week post, but I love this song so much that I couldn't resist making another one. Cosmic Love has become my latest obsession for a few reasons.

1. Though I sometimes tend to lean toward more cookie-cutter pop music (by that I mean current music and bands, like The Black Eyed Peas), this song's alternative genre and feel makes it so fun and interesting to listen to.

2. Cosmic Love is so energizing. We've all had that moment where we're like, ugh, I can't make it through the rest of the day, or run that extra mile at the gym, or clean the house. It's during these moments that I play this song, because it just shoots a bolt of positive, happy energy through you, and makes you feel a lot better.

3. Florence's music is unlike anything you've ever heard before. Her voice is memorable, in a good way. I would recognize it instantly. The melody of Cosmic Love is fantastic, and though I love the lyrics as well, sometimes I just like listening to the music.

I <3 Florence + The Machine :)
you'll love this song

Song of The Week

"The Lazy Song"- Bruno Mars

I am in love with this song! :) His voice is so sweet and this song is completely chill & relaxing. I love how a song can be about nothing, but be cute & charming--and such a great song! I think Bruno Mars is extremely talented and I especially love this song. The soft melodies in "The Lazy Song" are beautiful and you can't help but smile when you listen.

                                                                                                      ^^^^ what a cutie! :)

Prom-Perfect: Your Dress!!

A prom dress is a dress you'll never forget. Make sure it's absolutely stunning & truly your own with this guide! Here are a few ideas, Enjoy:)

**BloggerGirls tip: When shopping for a prom dress, sometimes the 'prom' labeled section of the store is not where you'll find your dress. Typical 'prom dresses' are usually layered down with synthetic taffeta fabric & look very cliche prom, in an unstylish, tacky way! Try shopping for dresses in the party-dress section for a beautiful dress that isn't stamped in red, "I got this because it's a prom dress."

**BloggerGirl Favorite!** Hollywood sweetheart- this is dress is stunning, to say the least. The scalloped bodice is classic & sweet. The long gown flawlessly cascades down the back. The bold red & the fit are a break away from the typical prom dress so you end up looking like you're waltzing into an A-list event. This dress just screams hot-hollywood! Click to shop:)

Feathered goddess- two words: BCBG & feathers. Wow! This dress is completely breathtaking. This white dress is fitted around the hips to accentuate your figure, has a pop of pale pink bellow the chest and has shoulders layered with lovely feathers! This dress is truly unique & truly show-stopping. Click to shop:)

Pretty in Purple- this dress is silky silky silky! I love the ombre effect & the beautiful gems around the bra-line both on the front & back. This dress is elegant, silky, sexy & sophisticated. You'll glide across the dance floor while your dress screams glamour. Click to shop:)

**BloggerGirls Tip: If you're into flashy showgirl-esque dresses for your prom, I have some great advice. Ballroom dance dresses are completely fabulous: adorned in Swarovski crystals, bright colors, & sexy cuts&fits, (and they come in use for my ballroom competitions, duh!) If you're interested you can always buy one, but like I've said before, renting is a affordable option.

Beachy & relaxed- You don't have to sacrifice your casual vibe for prom. Hey, I know a lot of people will tell you it's your night to be whoever you want to be, but my best advice is, be yourself!! I can't stress enough how important it is to dress in what you feel great in. This Lilly Pulitzer dress is girly & bright, and though it may be boho, watch out, if you pair with some nude heels, you'll be effortlessly prom-wonderful! Click to shop:)

Edgy- while I love the idea of short dresses for prom, this dress proves you can still be fiercely edgy in a long dress. Tulle drapings, & mod-style beadings/ embellishments make for one fashion-forward find! Click to shop:)

**BloggerGirls Tip: When I envision the perfect prom dress, I always think: hollywood. You can never go wrong with red carpet style. Flash back to watching the Oscars or the Grammys and picture the stars. Get inspiration! Who looked great? What star do you epitomize?  PS. I find that Neiman Marcus has an amazing formal dress selection. It's not too expensive, they carry a bunch of designer labels & you won't be disappointed with their great selection.

This guide to perfume will help you find your best scent.

Viva la Juicy Eau de Parfum (by Juicy Couture)
This perfume smells, well, yummy! Though it's an eau de parfum, the scent is more like an eau de toilet, and it's not too overbearing. Viva la Juicy has notes of honeysuckle, caramel, mandarins, and vanilla, among others.
Wear it: Day or Night

Playful/Bright
Daisy Eau de Toilette (by Marc Jacobs)
This perfume is a great, feminine scent. Featuring notes of wild strawberry, violet, jasmine, and vanilla along with others, Daisy smells very alluring and fun.
