Just because there's snow on the ground, doesn't mean that you can't horseback ride! You just have to follow a slightly different set of rules for winter riding.
1. Plan extra time for cool down-a wet horse put back in his stall too soon will get cold.
2. Wear winter riding boots- these shoes are warmer, just make sure that you can easily get your feet out of the stirrups.
3. Don't let snowballs form in your horses feet while you ride-coat the bottom of the hooves in petroleum jelly.
4. Warm the bit before putting it in your horses mouth-run it under hot water for 10 seconds (make sure it is just warm, not really hot).
5. Ride indoors when the snow gets past your horses fetlock, unless you're just walking or trotting.
Have fun!

Dança Samba!
One of my all time favorite latin dances is the Samba. The Samba is from Brazil, and is a fast paced, rather bouncy dance with lots of hip movement. It is recognized around the world as a symbol of Brazil and the Brazilian Carnival. Samba music has a huge African influence, and most Samba music has a strong drum beat. The ballroom Samba is related to the Brazilian Samba, but it is actually very different. For one, the Samba dancers at Carnival usually dance solo, while in ballroom style you're with a partner. Also, the timing of the music is different. (Also, ballroom samba dancers wear a lot more than the skimpy outfits the dancers at carnival where!)

This is so easy and delicious!
I don't know about you, but I have a major sweet tooth. But instead of bingeing on Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (I admit, I have done this), a healthy and satisfying alternative is smoothies. I like ones with more yogurt than juice, because they taste creamier.
Plain nonfat yogurt-I usually get the Dannon 32oz one (no need to get vanilla flavored or sweetened, the honey will sweeten naturally)
Fresh or frozen fruit-either will work, mix up classics like strawberries&bananas or go for something more tropical. papaya pineapple is good--yum
Milk- steer clear from whole milk, I usually get 2% or 1% lowfat
Honey-in my opinion using honey opposed to sugar tastes better
Blend&Enjoy!

Planning the Perfect Summer Vacation
I don't know about you, but when the holiday season draws to a close, winter gets old real fast. I want to go somewhere tropical, preferably somewhere I can walk around in shorts without getting hypothermia! Seriously though, if you want to plan a great vacation for summer, start in winter. This way, you'll be motivated by the thought of warm beaches or gorgeous summer nights, and start getting your travel itinerary together:) The best way to organize all your research for your trip is to make a seperate binder or folder to hold all of the loose papers. This way, you're not scrambling around trying to look for your plane tickets or your passport the day of departure (trust me- I know a lot about this). Gather info about the place you want to visit-make sure to research important details, such as the currency or native language of the country. FYI-if you're traveling to Italy, you'll probably want to know how to speak Italian first:)
