Contrary to popular belief, you don't need to lather avocado to you hair to make it shine, you just have to eat it! In order to look the part, you have to eat the part. These superfoods make you feel great (lots of antioxidants that leave you feeling energized, not fatigued), and look fabulous!
Avocados - I try to eat avocado salads, (just lemon juice, olive oil, and salt&pepper does the trick!) because avocados are so yummy and sooo healthy. Avocados have 60% more potassium that bananas, and are packed with tons of vitamins, like B, E and K. In addition to being extremely beneficial for your health, avocados make your hair more thick&shiny!
Olive oil- olive oil is a much much better alternative to butter or Pam. Olive oil is derived from olives (which I'm pretty sure are fruits, but some may argue that they're vegetables, lol), instead of butter which is made from the fat content of milk, ew. Olive oil contains lipids, which are essential to humans. Olive oil has been linked to preventing colon cancering and lowering high cholesterol. In my opinion, olive oil is much better tasting than butter. I use it for everything, even greasing the pan for pancakes! Olive oil also makes your hair shiny, and makes your shine healthier. (btw, get extra virgin olive oil, the other varieties are not as healthy because they go through processing).
Blueberries - blueberries are filled with antioxidants, and they boost your immune system. They're really yummy and get this: they are ranked #1 in the world of antioxidants and they're being linked to reducing disease and aging in the body. They preserve vision, and are actually considered to help as antidepressants! With all these benefits, how can you not totally love them? (Plus it doesn't hurt that they're super yummy!)
Honey- who doesn't love the deliciously sweet taste of honey? Well now there's more to love. Honey is a lot healthier, more natural and less processed than sugar. It also gives your skin a natural glow. Not only does it make you pretty on the ouside, but it also contains antioxidants, vitamins and protein, and reduces fatty accumulations. Honey has healing benefits and is actually proven to make you feel better when you have a cold. FYI, honey is a great alternative to sugar, but shouldn't be eaten and snacked on like a banana :)
